Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
We would rather tell you plainly than bury it in jargon. This policy sets out what JobsAbroad UK (jobsabroad.uk) knows about the people who use it, where that comes from, what we do with it and how you stay in control.
1. At a glance
- No sign-up. There are no visitor accounts, and every job and guide is open to read.
- No adverts. We do count visits, using Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and both set cookies.
- Your CV, phone number and messages only come to us if you send them, by email or on WhatsApp.
- Whenever you like, you can ask what we hold, have it corrected or have it removed.
2. The organisation responsible
The site is owned and operated by Red Migration FZC, a company registered in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. As the controller, it makes the decisions about how personal data on JobsAbroad UK is used and is accountable for them.
Contact details: jobs@jobsabroad.uk by email; +971 50 283 2394 by phone or WhatsApp; 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates by post.
3. Information you decide to send
Email applications
The Apply by email button on a job takes you to our contact page. Pick the email address there and the mail app on your device starts a blank message to jobs@jobsabroad.uk. The site itself sends nothing for you, and nothing reaches us before you hit send.
The contents are your call. A typical application from the UK contains some of the following:
- name, mobile number and email address;
- a CV setting out your employment history, plus referees;
- GCSEs, A levels, an NVQ, a degree or trade qualifications;
- a scan of your passport or a visa, should you choose to add one.
WhatsApp chats
Press Ask on WhatsApp and a one-to-one conversation with our team opens. As soon as you message us, your number and WhatsApp profile name are visible to us, along with anything you post: text, files, photos or voice notes.
The job channel
Our WhatsApp channel simply broadcasts new vacancies. Following it does not start a conversation with us. WhatsApp and its parent company, Meta, operate the channel under their own privacy terms.
Calls and post
Ring us or write to us and we learn only what you say. All the ways to get in touch are on the contact page, which deliberately has no form.
4. Information gathered automatically
Any visit creates a few technical records. Google Cloud keeps a log line for each request, showing the IP address, the type of browser and device, the page requested and the time. These logs are deleted after 30 days.
Separately, our server keeps a brief count of requests from each IP address, held in memory only, so that one source cannot swamp the site. We use both to diagnose faults and to block abuse, never to work out who you are.
5. Analytics
To find out which pages help people and where they give up, JobsAbroad UK runs Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (provided by Microsoft Corporation).
Collected: which pages are opened, scroll depth, the links and buttons pressed, and the device, browser and country of the visit. Both tools rely on cookies and similar technologies. Clarity goes further and captures clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as heatmaps and session replays, with anything typed into form fields masked. Microsoft may also use this data for advertising, as its Microsoft Privacy Statement explains.
Not passed on: your name, your email address and anything you type into a form. The single exception is the search box, where a job or trade you enter goes to Google Analytics as a search term. We have turned off the advertising features of Google Analytics.
Further reading: Google's privacy policy, the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Each cookie is named in our Cookie Policy.
6. Things we do not gather
Job searches and filters run in your browser and the address bar, so our database keeps no record of them. Apart from a single timestamp that lets a page reload smoothly after we release an update, our own code stores nothing on your device. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts. A YouTube video is fetched from youtube-nocookie.com only if you tap it. See the Cookie Policy for more.
Visitors never sign in. The only login is on a hidden admin page where our staff publish jobs and articles. It is powered by Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and lets in nobody whose email address is missing from our staff list.
7. How your information is used
- Matching your experience and documents to the job you chose.
- Sending your application to the employer advertising that job.
- Replying to you on the channel you used.
- Arranging the next stage, for instance an interview or extra paperwork.
- Keeping the site secure and running, with the help of logs and request limits.
- Meeting any legal obligation we have.
We never use what you send for advertising or profiling, and we never share it with the analytics tools.
8. Our lawful basis
Data protection law expects us to say why we are allowed to use your data. In short:
- consent, given when you chose to get in touch, which you may withdraw whenever you wish;
- steps before a contract, because handling your application moves you towards a job you asked about;
- legitimate interests, in keeping the site safe and in working order;
- legal obligation, on the occasions a law obliges us to keep or disclose something.
9. Who receives it
Access is limited to those with a real need:
- our team, who read your messages and reply;
- the employer behind the job you applied for, usually in Australia or New Zealand (a different employer only if you agree);
- Google Cloud, which hosts our web server (Cloud Run), our database (Cloud Firestore), the logs and the staff login; the database contains the published jobs, guides and videos rather than files from visitors;
- our email provider, which delivers and stores the mail sent to jobs@jobsabroad.uk;
- WhatsApp (Meta), which carries the chats and the job channel;
- courts, police or other authorities, but only where the law compels us.
10. Storage and international transfers
The web server and database run on Google Cloud in Belgium (European Union). We are a UAE company, and the employers are mostly in Australia or New Zealand. Our email provider, Google and Meta may handle data in further countries too.
An application sent from the UK can therefore pass through several jurisdictions, each with its own privacy rules. Where a transfer abroad calls for safeguards, we depend on the contractual and security protections our providers put in place, and each step receives only what it needs.
11. Retention
We keep emails and chats for as long as your application, any resulting recruitment or a legal duty requires. There is no fixed period. If you ask us to delete them, we will, unless the law makes us keep a record. Server logs expire after 30 days, and request counts sit in memory for a matter of minutes.
12. Security
Every connection uses HTTPS, and HSTS instructs browsers never to fall back to an unencrypted one. The database is not exposed to the internet; only our server can reach it. The admin page admits approved staff alone, and request limits hold back bots and password guessing.
Nothing online is ever completely secure. So keep copies of your passport to yourself until an employer or our team genuinely asks for them.
13. Your rights
You can generally ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or erased, limit how it is used or object to certain uses. Exactly which rights you have depends on where you live and the law that covers the data.
UAE. Red Migration FZC is established in the UAE, so the UAE's federal personal data protection law applies where relevant. It gives rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection, and to a portable copy.
United Kingdom. We respect the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, where they apply. If you are in the UK and unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Elsewhere. Australia, New Zealand and other countries have privacy laws with comparable rights. Tell us which one you rely on and we will follow it.
14. Making a request
Email jobs@jobsabroad.uk saying what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that your data is not handed to someone else. You will hear back within the time limit the law allows. If we cannot meet part of the request, for example because a record has to be kept, we will explain the reason.
15. Under-18s
JobsAbroad UK is intended for job seekers aged 18 and above. If you know of a younger person who has sent us their details, let us know and we will erase them.
16. Other websites we link to
You will find links on our pages to WhatsApp, YouTube, social networks and official government websites. The footer lists other websites we link to: Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au), Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and English test practice (practisenow.com). Each has its own policies, and those apply once you are there, so check them before handing over personal details.
17. Updates to this policy
Changes to the site, to our providers or to the law may mean this page needs updating. When it does, the date at the top changes too. Whatever is shown here is the version in force.
