Coolrooms one day, chilled water the next. A commercial services organisation in Hervey Bay, Queensland is recruiting experienced HVAC and refrigeration tradespeople to work across commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, freezer rooms, ventilation and catering equipment.
You would install, service and maintain systems, trace mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults, carry out planned maintenance, and test and commission equipment, working from drawings and specs and keeping accurate job records. Kitchen exhaust and specialist ventilation work also comes up, and you would team up with technicians and project crews on site. Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas candidates, subject to verification and eligibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, with preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Find and diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
- Install and maintain coolrooms, freezer rooms and associated refrigeration equipment
- Fit and maintain ventilation in commercial and industrial buildings, including kitchen exhaust and specialist work
- Service commercial catering and kitchen equipment, and support the installation, servicing and maintenance of chilled water systems
- Test, commission and check the performance of systems, using technical documents, drawings and equipment specifications
- Complete accurate service records and job paperwork
- Work with technicians and project teams on commercial and industrial sites, following Australian workplace health and safety procedures
- Keep building your technical knowledge through practical work and training
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electrical or a related trade
- Practical experience in commercial or industrial environments
- A genuine, relevant work history that can be verified, with evidence of your qualifications, trade experience and technical skills
- Good understanding of HVAC, refrigeration or related mechanical systems, with practical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Happy working alone or as part of a professional technical team
- Takes workplace safety and quality workmanship seriously, and communicates and solves problems well
- Keen to learn Australian workplace practices and keep developing
- Applicants from mechanical, maintenance, construction or manufacturing backgrounds with transferable skills may also be considered
- Able to complete the relevant skills and employment verification and meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
