Day to day you would install and service systems, find out whether a fault is electrical, mechanical or refrigeration-related, handle refrigerant recovery and leak testing and keep tidy service records. Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain all kinds of air conditioning and HVAC systems, from split and ducted units to commercial plant
- Inspect equipment and work out whether faults are electrical, mechanical or refrigeration-related
- Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance, and repair breakdowns so units are safe to run again
- Handle refrigerant recovery, charging and leak detection to the required standards
- Test system performance and fine-tune for efficient running
- Follow safety procedures and industry rules on every site and keep accurate records of servicing, repairs and faults
- Work with other technicians, supervisors, clients and trades, representing the business professionally
- Keep your tools, equipment and work areas organised and compliant
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant practical HVAC or air conditioning experience preferred
- You have installed, serviced, maintained and repaired HVAC systems
- You are a strong troubleshooter with good diagnostic skills
- Genuine, verifiable technical experience backed by qualification and employment documents
- You understand workplace safety, electrical safety and HVAC maintenance procedures
- You can work on your own, fit in well with a professional team and look after customers with clear communication
- Commercial, industrial or specialised air conditioning experience is advantageous
- Refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling experience is advantageous
- Electrical controls, wiring and HVAC control systems experience is advantageous
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance experience is advantageous
- Passes required drug and alcohol screening where applicable, and agrees to identity, qualification and employment verification
