Fancy swapping the UK winter for a Sydney pub kitchen? A hotel there is under new ownership and is recruiting an Assistant Chef on a casual basis, looking for cooks or chefs who are enthusiastic, inventive and ambitious.
The new owners have a clear plan, with a refurbishment right across the building, more entertainment and a lively local and sports venue with food at its heart. Lunch and dinner run every day across several areas.
Shifts fall on Monday and Tuesday for lunch and dinner and on Saturday and Sunday for one of the two, with more hours as the place finds its feet. Anyone who can start straight away will be strongly favoured, and the venue may be able to offer sponsorship opportunities to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and send out fresh, modern pub food, keeping quality, presentation and service consistently high
- Support the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen, in line with food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Muck in as part of a positive, supportive kitchen team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial kitchen experience and the confidence to work across a busy service
- Reliable and punctual with a great attitude, positive energy and a strong team attitude
- Able to work under your own steam while following the Head Chef's direction
- Pride in turning out quality, consistent food and a genuine fondness for modern pub food and fresh produce
- Good under pressure, a solid team player and flexible across lunch, dinner and weekend services
