One week in the workshop and the next on a remote site, this Boilermaker job in Brisbane, Queensland, suits a tradesperson who likes variety. An established industrial operation needs someone with genuine welding and fabrication skills who understands quality requirements and stays safe around heavy equipment.
You would cut, bend and shape plate and steel sections, weld to the job specification, check work against customer requirements and show apprentices how it is done. Line boring comes up when needed, and the week runs Monday to Saturday with occasional overtime. Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate steel and carry out boilermaking with the right tools and equipment
- Cut, bend and shape plate and steel sections ready for welding
- Weld and fabricate to each job's specification, checking finished work against customer specifications and quality requirements
- Keep quality assurance consistent across every task
- Work with the leading hand and fabrication crew during production and on site, alone or as a team, following safe procedures
- Show apprentices practical techniques and methods, and carry out line boring when required
- Adapt to the demands of workshop and remote-site work
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Boilermaking trade qualification or an overseas equivalent
- Proven hands-on boilermaking and steel fabrication in manufacturing, mining or heavy industry
- Demonstrated welding and metal fabrication skills
- Previous line boring experience is highly regarded
- Evidence supporting your trade qualifications and work experience
- Solid understanding of workplace quality and safety requirements
- Available Monday to Saturday with occasional overtime, and willing to go on remote-site assignments when required
- Able to complete a pre-employment medical and pass drug and alcohol screening successfully
- Overseas candidates with relevant qualifications and verifiable industry experience are encouraged to apply
