Swapping a UK care home for one in Christchurch? A dementia care home there is recruiting a permanent, full-time Caregiver, and the visa route hinges on your qualifications.
The home is an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer, which means it can sponsor staff on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). That support needs either a Registered Nursing degree or a caregiving qualification at Level 3 or above, together with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
On shift you would help residents with dementia with washing, dressing, meals, getting about and communicating, contribute to care plans and therapy, keep records accurate and back up the registered nurses. You would join a close team that puts real effort into mentoring and training.
The contract is for a minimum of 30 hours a week on a rota that runs day and night. Rates are $23.95 an hour at Level 1, $24.06 at Level 2, $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 or higher.

Key Responsibilities
- Help residents with washing, dressing, meals, getting about and communicating, with holistic and culturally safe care
- Play a part in care planning and follow therapy plans for people living with dementia
- Keep an eye on residents' progress, report it, and raise any change in condition or concern about care promptly
- Keep residents' records accurate, appropriate and up to date, and support registered nurses within their scope of practice

- Previous caregiving experience preferred, with dementia care experience a strong advantage
- For visa support: a Registered Nursing degree, or a caregiving qualification at Level 3 or above plus an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
