Not the Newcastle on the Tyne, but the one in New South Wales: a general practice nearby is recruiting a Registered Nurse for a permanent, full-time post.
Practice nurses in the UK will recognise much of the list: triage, chronic disease management plans, health assessments, wound care and immunisations, including childhood ones. There is also procedural work, with ECGs, spirometry, venesections and iron infusions, and the practical running of recalls, stock, ordering and the cold chain.
General practice experience is preferable, yet on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate. Temporary Residence / Permanent Residence sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison for patients and pick up the phones when needed
- Triage patients and put together chronic disease management plans
- Undertake health assessments
- Keep the recall and reminder system running smoothly
- Look after stock control, ordering and the cold chain
- Carry out ECGs, spirometry, iron infusions and venesections
- Deliver wound management and immunisations, children's immunisations among them
- Help with minor procedures, keep equipment in good order and support the GPs and colleagues
Requirements & Eligibility
- Unconditional registration with AHPRA, held currently
- An up-to-date immunisations certificate, or willingness to complete the training
- A CPR certificate
- A current Working with Children Check
- A good work ethic
- Organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in general practice is preferable
