Key Responsibilities
- Do carpentry on home and commercial renovations, including bathroom refurbishments
- Fit kitchens and make or install cabinetry, measuring, cutting and assembling the timber parts
- Complete fit-outs for houses and businesses, plus general carpentry and building maintenance
- Handle roofing carpentry and build and fit fencing and other outdoor structures
- Work from plans, drawings and measurements, choosing the right materials, tools and methods
- Organise your own workload, meet project requirements and coordinate with other trades and the project team
- Deal with problems on site using practical solutions, and finish work accurately and neatly
- Keep tools, gear and work areas tidy and safe in line with health and safety procedures
- Behave professionally on customer and commercial sites, adapt as projects change and help get jobs done efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 4 years of carpentry experience after completing your apprenticeship
- Proven experience across several areas of carpentry, with strong cabinetmaking and kitchen installation skills
- Domestic and commercial fit-out experience
- Roofing and fencing experience will be highly regarded
- Genuine hands-on trade experience you can show
- Confident working without constant supervision and cooperating with other trades and contractors
- Good planning, organisation and problem-solving, with an eye for detail
- Reliable, motivated and professional, and keen to upskill and broaden your trade
- A full Australian driver’s licence
- Your own carpentry tools
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Valid Australian work rights, or eligibility for an appropriate sponsored visa
