Coded welding on fixed plant, structural steel and pressure pipe is the backbone of this Coded Welder role in Perth. The work spans maintenance and fabrication, from repairs and modifications to shutdowns and breakdowns, in the workshop and on site.
Expect pipework, tanks, chutes, hoppers and ductwork to fabricate or mend, pumps and thickeners to service and engineering drawings to follow, with a 6G weld test along the way. Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates who are already in Australia. A strong, verifiable employment history in welding and fabrication counts for a lot. UK coded welders from power, process or fabrication shops will know this territory.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce coded welds on structural steel and pressure pipe, including 6G work, and fabricate to standard
- Fix and alter fixed plant, and service pumps, thickeners and other process equipment
- Make and mend piping, tanks, chutes, hoppers and ductwork, repair structural supports and swap out worn or damaged parts
- Read and work from engineering drawings and technical specs
- Cover planned preventative jobs as well as corrective and breakdown work
- Join shutdowns and planned maintenance campaigns, fabricating in the workshop or out on site
- Keep every job safe, accurate and high quality, in line with site safety rules and welding standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven Coded Welder experience backed by solid hands-on welding and fabrication work
- Able to successfully complete a 6G weld test
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant Engineering Trade qualification
- Experience in fixed plant maintenance is highly desirable
- Welding and fabrication employment history you can verify
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications, both obtained within the previous 2 years
- Current driver's licence
- Can pass a pre-employment medical
- Evidence of your relevant qualifications and trade experience
