A specialist equipment services business is after a fitter or boilermaker who is strong on mechanical, hydraulic and maintenance work, splitting the week between its workshop and customer sites.
Typical jobs include tracing faults, repairing and servicing plant, checking hydraulics and 12V and 24V electrics, readying machines for delivery and writing up what you found. Some site visits are in the city, others regional or remote. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates who meet the required criteria.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep mobile and fixed crushing and processing plant serviced and in working order
- Track down equipment faults and work out the repairs required
- Handle mechanical repairs, routine services and preventative maintenance, following OEM specifications and approved procedures
- Use schematics, manuals and technical data to find hydraulic faults, then run pressure and flow checks
- Fault-find 12V and 24V electrical controls, interpreting wiring diagrams and checking voltage and continuity
- Get machines inspected and ready before delivery
- Travel out to customers in metropolitan, regional and remote areas to service plant and give technical support
- Describe the condition of each machine, suggest remedial work and write up service and condition reports
- Log inspections, repairs, settings and test results accurately and photograph finished work
- Speak with customers directly about faults found and work completed
- Stick to safe working habits whether in the workshop or out in the field
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in Fitting or Boilermaking, or in a comparable mechanical trade
- At least 2 years of industry experience after completing your training
- A proven background working on quarry or mining fixed plant, including hands-on time with crushing and processing machines
- A track record you can show in mechanical maintenance and repair
- Understands hydraulic systems, can diagnose their faults and reads hydraulic schematics
- Can interpret electrical schematics and carry out basic electrical tests on 12V and 24V systems
- A trade work history and experience that can be shown and checked
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence is desirable
- Fit for physical, field-based work and happy to travel to metropolitan, regional and remote locations
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
- Good at solving mechanical problems
- Proactive and able to motivate yourself
- Communicates well and gives good service to customers and site teams
