Drainlayer

Visa sponsorship

Construction · Queenstown, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

A civil construction outfit in Queenstown is hiring across the drainage trade: experienced Drainlayers, Drainage Operators and Drainage Labourers, along with 20T Excavator Operators and multi-skilled operators who hold a Class 4. Projects take in wastewater and stormwater networks, utilities, earthworks and roading, so no two weeks look quite alike.

It is practical, outdoor work for people who like fixing problems on the ground rather than repeating one job on a loop. Expect trenching and pipe laying, machine time, concrete and site reinstatement, all under strict safety and environmental rules. UK groundworkers with drainage experience will recognise most of it.

On your CV, list the pipe systems you have laid, the excavators and loaders you have driven and your licence classes and endorsements. Line up a Queenstown drainage CV with Build AI CV so a site manager can see it all quickly.

  • Lay and finish concrete, help with landscaping and reinstate sites afterwards
  • Work to project specifications, raise site issues early and suggest practical solutions while keeping quality and output up
  • Work alongside operators, drainlayers and supervisors, follow health, safety and environmental rules, limit the impact on the environment and community, and keep equipment and sites in good order
