Fitter Welder

Trade · Christchurch, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
Truck decks, crane fit-outs and trailer builds keep this Christchurch workshop busy. A growing engineering business needs a Fitter Welder with at least 5 years behind them who can work from detailed drawings on one job and their own fabrication judgement on the next.
Expect to weld mild steel, stainless and aluminium using MIG and TIG, build and assemble structures, and fix up trucks, bodies and other transport gear, sometimes against a tight turnaround. Each job gets checked for size, strength and finish against engineering and certification rules, and you would work with engineers when something needs signing off. Suitable overseas applicants may be considered for employer-sponsored employment.
List the metals and processes you weld and the workshops you have worked in on your CV, plus any tickets. Write a truck body fitter welder CV with Build AI CV before you apply.
