Fancy swapping the UK winter for commercial flooring work in Perth? A long-established Australian floor coverings business is recruiting a Flooring Installer for a permanent, full-time role on projects with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders across Perth and Western Australia.
You would report to the Site Supervisor and stick to the coverings you specialise in, planning each job properly, getting it right the first time and leaving a tidy, professional finish. Expect to work closely with the builder's site team and the other trades.
The job is done well when installations are good quality, on programme, safe and have minimal defects. Visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas installers, which means the employer can back a work visa for the right person.

Key Responsibilities
- Fit your specialist coverings, whether that is carpet and carpet tiles or resilient flooring such as sheet vinyl and LVT, including welding and coving
- Get subfloors ready: grind, patch, prime and level
- Take moisture and flatness readings before fitting and log them
- Work out set-out and measurements accurately from drawings and finishes schedules
- Liaise with the builder's site team and the other trades so the programme does not slip
- Look after materials on site (checking, storing and protecting them) and keep waste down
- Keep on top of timesheets, daily reports, photo records and quality checklists, and stick to site safety rules, inductions and safe work method statements
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years' commercial flooring experience, whether in Australia or overseas
- Competent in at least one trade from subfloor preparation, carpet fitting or vinyl fitting
- A Certificate III in Flooring Technology or a comparable floor covering trade qualification, or an equivalent overseas qualification or level of experience, is preferred but not required
- WA White Card, or the means to get hold of one before you start
- A driver's licence that is valid in Australia
- A strong eye for detail and a reliable approach to work
- Good spoken English on site
