The focus is on what you can actually do with clients, so your qualifications, practical skills and work history will be used to match you with a salon that suits.
Depending on your specialty, the work might mean precision cuts and blow-dries, foils, balayage and colour correction, smoothing or chemical treatments, men's grooming, or brows, lashes, waxing and facials. Sponsorship is available for eligible overseas professionals. If you have built a column of regulars in a UK salon, this is a chance to take that skill to New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hairdressing, barbering or beauty services in your area of expertise, starting with a consultation on what each client wants
- Cut and style hair for men and women, including blow-dries and hair-ups
- Colour hair, from root touch-ups and global colour to foils, highlights and lowlights
- Create balayage and ombré, tone hair and carry out colour correction
- Where qualified, provide keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox and other smoothing treatments, as well as straightening, perms and other chemical services
- Offer barbering and men's grooming where relevant
- Provide threading, waxing, facials and other beauty treatments, plus brow and lash services such as extensions and tinting where qualified
- Recommend professional products and home-care routines
- Keep hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety standards high, and give clients a warm, professional visit that builds lasting relationships
- Look professional, work well with the team in a busy salon and keep your technical skills up to date
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience is preferred
- Relevant industry qualification and/or demonstrable professional salon experience
- Proven technical ability for the position you apply for
- Practical experience with modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques, and genuine hands-on industry experience you can show
- Strong communication, consultation and customer service skills
- Professional, reliable and well presented
- Works independently and as an effective team member
- A strong commitment to quality, hygiene and professional standards
- A passion for building a long-term career in hair and beauty
- Able to provide evidence of relevant qualifications and professional experience when required
- Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility to obtain an appropriate work visa
