Cutting, colouring and styling are the core of this Senior Hairdresser role at an established Melbourne salon. The team is supportive, the bar for quality is consistently high and there is scope to grow your own following over time.
Your day would include consultations and product advice, scissor, thinning-scissor and clipper work including men's cuts, colour, highlights and chemical straightening, and styling for formal occasions and shoots, with braiding and hair pieces where needed. Keeping a clean station and building loyal client relationships matter as much as technique. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Consult clients on their hair needs and recommend care routines and professional products
- Cut with scissors, thinning scissors and clippers, including men's cutting and styling
- Carry out colouring, highlighting, chemical straightening and other suitable treatments, plus shampooing, conditioning and scalp preparation
- Style for formal occasions, events and professional sessions, tailoring the look to each client and using braids or hair pieces when needed
- Keep technical work and presentation to a high standard with a clean, organised workstation
- Build lasting, professional relationships that turn clients into regulars, and support a cooperative salon
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional hairdressing experience and practical skills you can demonstrate
- Maximum of 5 years' industry experience
- Strong cutting, colouring and styling, including highlights and chemical treatments
- Confident cutting both men's and women's hair
- Competent at event and occasion styling
- Good knowledge of hair care and recommending products, with strong consultation and communication skills
- Reliable, on time and well presented, with a friendly, confident service manner
- Works well in a team, with a commitment to quality and detail
- Flexible about working hours
