If you have delivered large HVAC or mechanical packages in the UK, Australia or New Zealand, this Perth role is pitched at your level. An HVAC contractor needs a Site Manager to run installation on substantial design-and-construct (D&C) packages across healthcare, defence, government, education, aviation, hospitality, data centre and commercial projects.
You would own daily delivery on site, direct mechanical trades and subcontractors, keep work moving against the construction programme and make sure safety, compliance and quality hold. Reading drawings and specs, solving technical problems, handling variations and lining up labour and materials are all part of it, as is regular contact with Project Managers, engineers, builders and consultants. Key Responsibilities
- Run HVAC installation on site day to day
- Direct mechanical trades and subcontractors, and line up labour, materials and site resources so nothing stalls
- Monitor progress against the agreed construction programmes
- Inspect installation quality and fix anything below standard
- Keep the site safe and compliant
- Interpret HVAC drawings, specifications and technical requirements to make decisions on site
- Work with Project Managers, engineering teams, builders, consultants and other stakeholders
- Resolve construction, installation and technical issues and help manage variations and changes to the project
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 4 years in HVAC or mechanical construction, gained in Australia, New Zealand or the UK
- Experience on large commercial HVAC or mechanical services projects
- Tier 1 construction experience strongly preferred
- Good knowledge of HVAC systems and their installation, and confident reading and applying technical drawings and specifications
- A relevant trade or engineering qualification, or extensive industry experience
- Leads teams and subcontractors well, with excellent communication and stakeholder management
