Two Leading Hand Cabinetmaker positions are open with an established cabinetry and joinery workshop in Townsville. Each suits a trade-qualified cabinetmaker who still loves the bench but is ready to run a small crew, keep jobs flowing through the shop and set the standard for quality.
Your time would be split between building and assembling cabinetry yourself and guiding cabinetmakers and apprentices, going through drawings with them and checking measurements and finishes before work leaves the floor. Eligible overseas candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship. If you have run a joinery shop floor in the UK, this is a natural next step.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and guide the cabinetmakers and apprentices in the workshop
- Plan the daily workflow and keep production moving
- Manufacture and assemble cabinetry and joinery to a high standard
- Interpret drawings, plans and specifications and give the team technical direction
- Run workshop machines and equipment and check measurements, workmanship and finished items
- Keep an eye on quality and output, sort out production problems and help with installations when required
- Keep the workshop safe and orderly and help the team hit production deadlines and quality targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Cabinetmaker holding a Certificate III or equivalent
- Solid cabinetmaking and joinery experience with proven hands-on technical skill
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience preferred
- Able to lead and support a small team and understand how workshop production runs
- Can read plans and technical drawings
- Good communicator and well organised, with close attention to detail and quality standards
- Dependable and safety-aware
- Relevant experience must be backed by appropriate qualifications and employment history
