Construction finance moves quickly, and a growing project-based builder in New South Wales wants a Management Accountant for its Sydney finance team. Reporting to the CFO, you would cover month-end, management reporting, budgets and forecasts, cash management and the systems that hold it all together.
The role suits someone who enjoys turning numbers into clear messages that project managers and leaders can use, and who is comfortable working with non-finance colleagues. Candidates from Big 4, mid-tier audit or business services backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle month-end close and reconciliations, keeping the general ledger and financial records accurate
- Prepare the monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and explain the results in ways managers can act on
- Contribute to the annual budget and keep forecasts up to date
- Support overhead planning and monitor financial performance
- Track daily cash movements and update cash flow forecasts
- Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reports for management
- Improve finance processes and reporting accuracy, and keep data moving cleanly between accounting systems and integrations
- Work with the CFO, finance colleagues and operational teams on commercial and project work in a complex construction business
Requirements & Eligibility
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards it
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, with practical month-end experience
- Experience in management reporting, budgeting or forecasting
- Comfortable with Excel and financial systems
- Accurate and detail-minded, able to analyse figures and spot problems or opportunities
- Communicates clearly and manages stakeholders professionally across finance and non-finance teams
- Construction or project-based accounting experience is advantageous
- Jobpac experience is advantageous
- Strong applicants with a Big 4 or mid-tier audit or Business Services background are encouraged to apply
- Candidates with approximately 6–12 months or more of commercial accounting experience may be considered
