Kitchen benchtops are the bread and butter of this Sydney stone workshop. The established manufacturer wants an experienced Stonemason / Stone Fabricator who takes real pride in turning slabs of natural and engineered stone into high-quality benchtops and other pieces.
Fabrication here is 100% wet-processing and water-fed. The job is permanent, full-time and long-term, with an immediate start. Hours run Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, and extra Saturday work comes up. Employer sponsorship may be available for suitably qualified and experienced international candidates who meet Australian immigration rules, subject to all Australian Government visa, skills, experience, English language and other eligibility requirements. Applicants overseas and people already in Australia on a temporary visa are welcome, and anyone needing a visa should state their current location, visa status, qualifications and stonemasonry experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Turn natural and engineered stone into kitchen benchtops and other stone pieces
- Saw, shape, polish and finish slabs, laminating and mitring the edges
- Make tight mitred joins and crisp finished edges
- Work accurately from plans, drawings and measurements
- Keep up accuracy and speed in a busy production setting, with a keen eye for detail
- Stick to safety procedures and the company's systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- A demonstrated background in stonemasonry and stone fabrication
- Hands-on with both natural and manufactured stone
- Confident laminating, mitring, polishing and finishing
- Able to read and interpret plans and drawings
- Turns out high-quality finishes every time, with a strong eye for detail and pride in the workmanship
- Happy working solo or in a team
- Dependable and hard-working, keeping efficient when the pace is fast
- Physically up to the requirements of the role
- Current driver's licence
- A White Card, or willing to obtain one
- Desirable: forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- 3+ years' relevant industry experience is preferred, but suitably skilled people with less experience will also be considered
