Swap the cab for teaching, out on a working mine. A civil and mining training provider north of Perth needs trainers and assessors who hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and want to help new operators become safe, confident and employable. All training is one-on-one and practical, on a live mine site.
Two vacancies are open, 1 Civil Trainer & Assessor and 1 Dozer / Excavator Trainer. The civil role works weekdays on 8-12 hour shifts, with alternate Saturdays available. The dozer and excavator role handles production mining gear such as the D11 and 3600, also weekdays on 8-12 hour shifts, moving between 2 mine sites. The site is roughly 60 minutes from the Perth CBD, so it is not a FIFO post and you are home every night. Full-time, casual, part-time and job share applications are welcome, and the right candidate can get visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Run nationally recognised training and competency-based assessment of a high standard
- Coach students one-on-one on machines at a live mine site and get them ready for real civil and mining jobs
- Stick to the site's operating procedures and industry best practice
- Work within the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection rules and RTO standards
- Sign off only operators who are genuinely competent, keeping every assessment honest
- Keep training and assessment paperwork accurate
- Be a supportive member of the training team and keep learning safe, professional and positive
- If you are the Mining Trainer, help with civil training whenever Dozer & Excavator programmes are not running
Requirements & Eligibility
- A current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110
- Hands-on experience running civil & Mining equipment
- Some supervisory experience (desirable)
- Keeps cool under pressure and is decisive
- Equally happy alone or within a Team
- Good Time Management, which is crucial when customers pay for their training
- Genuinely wants to help people
- Proud of keeping safety and training standards high
- Dependable, professional and on time
- Will pass a pre-employment medical and meet daily breathalyser requirements
- Civil Trainer: highly regarded is current competency and experience on multiple items of civil plant, such as Front End Loader (RIIMPO321F), Roller (RIIMPO317F), Skid Steer Loader (RIIMPO318F), Telehandler (RIIHAN309F), Integrated Tool Carrier (RIIHAN311F), Bulk Water Truck (RIIMPO206D), Civil Construction Excavator (RIIMPO320F), Articulated Haul Truck (RIIMPO337E) and Rigid Haul Truck (RIIMPO338E)
- Mining Trainer: Dozer (RIIMPO323E) and Grader (RIIMPO324F) are desirable, though RII Qualifications are not required, and the civil plant units listed above are an added advantage
