Underground work keeps an electrician on their toes. A mining operation in Western Australia is offering permanent work to an Underground Electrician who can keep systems below ground safe, reliable and running, with the role listed in Perth.
You would maintain and repair underground electrical equipment, complete preventative maintenance, attend breakdowns and fix faults properly, and carry out inspections and testing. Site procedures, isolations and safety rules come first, records need to be accurate, and you would work closely with other trades and operations to improve reliability. Shifts are 12 hours on a 7/7 or 2/2 roster. Eligible overseas applicants who need visa sponsorship are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair underground electrical equipment and systems, keeping them safe and reliable
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and testing
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and operational issues, diagnosing faults and fixing them properly
- Support underground production and maintenance while following site electrical procedures, isolations and safety rules
- Record maintenance accurately and keep documentation current
- Work with other trades and operations staff and help improve equipment reliability
Requirements & Eligibility
- An electrical trade qualification that is recognised in Australia
- Holding a current A Grade Western Australian Electrical Licence
- At least 3 years' experience in the electrical industry
- Previous mining experience is desirable
- Experience underground in mining is advantageous
- A current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
- Holding an HV Switching ticket is desirable
- A Working at Heights certificate is desirable
- Holding a High Risk Work Licence is desirable
- Safety-minded and professional, and able to work 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 or 2/2 roster
