Trailers are built from the frame up in this Welder job with a busy trailer manufacturer in Brisbane, Queensland. The permanent, full-time role goes beyond laying welds, taking in chassis fitting, suspension and brakes, and air, electrical and hydraulic systems, right through to final testing.
You would MIG weld steel frames, work from drawings and welding specifications, check dimensions and weld quality and flag any non-conforming parts or workmanship. Accuracy and consistency matter on every build. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel trailer frames, chassis and related components
- Read drawings, welding specifications and measurements, then prepare, position and assemble fabricated sections
- Fit chassis, suspension, braking and other trailer parts
- Install air, electrical and hydraulic systems where required, plus accessories and custom features
- Use welders, hand tools and measuring equipment correctly
- Check weld integrity, dimensions and the quality of each finished assembly
- Test installed systems before the trailer is signed off
- Identify and report non-conforming materials, components or workmanship
- Keep the workshop safe and organised and work with the production team to meet quality, safety and output standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of practical welding experience, with genuine hands-on trade experience you can demonstrate
- Previous trailer assembly or trailer manufacturing experience
- Strong MIG welding skills on steel
- Confident reading blueprints and technical drawings, and competent with measuring equipment and workshop tools
- Practical knowledge of trailer chassis, suspension and braking components
- Experience with air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
- Close attention to detail and consistent workmanship
- Reliable with attendance and production responsibilities
- Safety-minded in a manufacturing environment
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential
