Fancy taking your scissors from Manchester to New Zealand? A professional unisex salon in Tauranga is recruiting experienced, creative Hairdressers and Barbers as its team grows.
Day to day, you would be cutting, colouring and styling for men and women and offering proper barbering services, all to a high standard in a modern salon with air conditioning. Clients should leave happy, and the salon's health and hygiene standards come first. It is an accredited employer, which means visa sponsorship is available if required for a suitable candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Chat through what each client is after, from cut and colour to styling, beard shaping and other grooming
- Use scissors and clippers to cut and trim, and razors to taper and shape
- Style the finished look with professional tools
- Look after gents' grooming, including beard and moustache trims, wet shaves and hot towel treatments
- Wash and condition hair and carry out hair and scalp treatments
- Colour, tint, highlight and bleach hair, and remove colour where needed
- Carry out chemical work to straighten, relax or perm hair
- Blow-dry and finish with straighteners, curling tongs and styling products, giving tips on hair and scalp care, keeping the style in shape and which products to buy
- Keep all kit, equipment and workstations maintained, cleaned and sanitised to the salon's hygiene and health and safety standards
- Organise bookings and diaries and take payments as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of two (2) years' full-time experience as a Hairdresser or Barber
- Proven technical skill in haircutting and colouring
- Proven technical skill in styling and in men's grooming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A strong customer service focus
- The ability to work efficiently and cooperatively within a team, alongside sound knowledge of hygiene and safety practice in a salon
