Swapping the UK winter for tropical Queensland? Two childcare centres in Cairns are recruiting 12 full-time Childcare Workers to look after children aged 0 to 6.
You will need to be working towards a Certificate III or already qualified with one, or to hold a Diploma in Early Childhood.
The employer has the Government's go-ahead to sponsor suitably qualified workers from abroad, and the occupation is on the approved list. Whether a visa follows depends on its type and conditions, getting through an ACECQA skills assessment, your English test scores and a trial period that goes to plan.
Expect a role built around a safe and welcoming setting for little ones, planned learning, EYLF, NQF and NQS records and plenty of contact with families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
- Give children a safe, fun, warm and welcoming setting
- Help plan and deliver a high-quality educational curriculum
- Keep learning records up to date in line with the EYLF, NQF and NQS
- Chat with parents and carers regularly, building rapport and a strong link between home and the setting
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families and fellow early years educators
Requirements & Eligibility
- Working towards a Certificate III or already qualified with one, or holding a Diploma in Early Childhood
- Real enthusiasm for looking after children aged 0-6 years, together with a strong work ethic and a fresh, open-minded approach
- Excellent communication skills on paper and in person
- IT skills for electronic programming and portfolios
- A current Queensland Blue Card
- A good grasp of the regulatory requirements in the National Regulations and National Quality Standards
- First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis and Asthma training if you are offered the role
