Swapping the UK winter for an Australian shutdown season? A firm offering industrial engineering, fabrication, welding and maintenance services, both across Australia and internationally, is recruiting multiple experienced Coded Welders, Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers for ongoing shutdown and project work.
The job is advertised in Perth, with work at sites around Australia for the rest of 2026. Shutdowns on the books include South Australia from 4 November to 2 December 2026, Central WA from 5 to 15 November 2026 and the Pilbara from 16 to 29 November 2026, and mobilisation is due in the coming weeks.
You'll be on 10 to 12 hour shifts, days and nights, with a mix of rosters. You can get visa sponsorship and assistance with this one, and temporary residents and residents are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- You'll weld, cut, grind, gouge and form metal, keeping the work to the required standard
- You'll handle maintenance, repairs and modifications on plant and kit
- You'll operate lathes, milling machines and grinders to cut and shape metal
- You'll pick up other jobs that suit your skills, with training laid on where needed
- You'll work 10 to 12 hour day and night shifts on shutdown rosters
- You'll move between shutdown sites around Australia as the work requires
Requirements & Eligibility
- You'll hold an Australian-recognised trade certificate (where applicable)
- You'll have a demonstrated background in shutdowns
- You'll be able to pass a weld test (where applicable)
- You'll be happy to work a range of rosters
- You'll have a valid driver's licence, a Working in Confined Spaces ticket and a Working at Heights ticket
- You'll be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- You'll bring a proactive, team-minded attitude
- You'll keep safety standards high
