Coaches and buses that carry tourists need mechanics who keep them safe and looking sharp. A family-owned Western Australian transport and tourism company wants skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic staff for its Perth workshop, servicing, modifying, diagnosing and repairing a varied fleet, with the odd job at other WA sites.
Bus or coach experience is welcome but not essential, and both casual and full-time work is on offer, with hours agreed at interview. This role is open to applicants already in Australia with current Australian working rights. Employer sponsorship is available for suitably qualified applicants. Key Responsibilities
- Check over and look after every coach and bus to the company's standard
- Find faults, service and fix all kinds of heavy vehicles, swapping and repairing mechanical parts
- Log fleet and repair work in line with maker specs and WA's omnibus maintenance programme
- Keep on-board tech running, such as wifi, GPS tracking, radios, CCTV and sensors
- Record services online, keep the workshop in shape, road test vehicles and head out to other WA sites now and then
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade papers as a heavy commercial vehicle mechanic, or something similar
- Has worked on heavy diesel vehicles (buses and coaches preferred, not essential)
- Good at tracking down faults
- Knows the compliance rules for transport in WA
- Current Australian working rights
- A current driver's licence (HR class highly regarded), plus a working at heights certificate and relevant high risk work licences, or willingness to obtain them
