Metal Casting Trade Worker

Trade · Christchurch, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35 - $41/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
Swapping a British foundry for one in Christchurch is a bigger change of scenery than of trade. A marine propulsion manufacturer, with systems in service in more than 120 countries, is recruiting a Metal Casting Trade Worker for its New Zealand foundry.
It is a moulding job at heart. You will need at least five years of hands-on sand moulding in a production foundry, and the work also takes in cores, furnaces, pouring, knock-out, fettling and inspection. The shop casts Aluminium, AB2 (aluminium bronze alloy) and Stainless Steel, so a varied alloy history is highly valued.
Expect rotating shifts, and be prepared to work any of them. Weekday shifts are 6:00am–2:30pm, 7:00am–3:30pm, 2:30pm–10:30pm or 3:30pm–11:30pm, and nights from Sunday to Friday are 10:30pm–6:30am or 11:00pm–7:00am. You will get two weeks' notice, or more, before your pattern changes.
The employer is accredited under New Zealand's Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme and may support sponsorship for suitably qualified applicants.
A short CV that worked for a local job will not say enough here, so list your moulding methods, alloys and lifting experience for every foundry you have worked in. write a detailed foundry CV with Build AI CV.
