Peak season for deer velvet runs through to February or March, so whoever lands this job will be busy from the start. A growing food manufacturer in the primary sector near Hamilton, exporting mostly to China and Southeast Asia, wants a Production Planner & Supply Chain Officer.
Production planning is yours to own, and you are the link between the factory floor and the sales team. It is a first step into leadership, managing one person, with room to grow. Expect 40 hours a week, more at peak times, starting as soon as possible. The employer holds Immigration NZ accreditation and is open to people who need sponsorship on an Accredited Employer Work Visa, but only applicants who are already in New Zealand and have New Zealand work experience can be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan production runs and keep them on track for capacity, cost and quality
- Predict demand
- Look further ahead with a longer-term operational view
- Make SAP work harder, owning master data, inventories and bills of materials
- Line up supply chain activity, packaging suppliers and outgoing dispatch
- Partner with QA to stay on top of traceability, MPI and export market rules
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience planning production in a manufacturing setting, with strong forecasting ability
- Hands-on ERP experience, and SAP is strongly preferred (training is available)
- Manufacturing experience in food or primary industries, and knowledge of QA
- Communicates clearly and manages customer expectations with confidence
- Practical, resilient and adaptable when deadlines change
- Desirable: team leadership, health and safety experience, or knowledge of exporting to Asia
