Rotorua is getting a new gastropub, and its opening team needs three experienced Bartenders. Behind the bar you would build cocktails to the house recipes, pour beer, wine and spirits with real product knowledge, and keep guests happy through busy evenings and weekends.
Being part of an opening crew means helping set the standard from the start: stocking and rotating supplies, handling the POS and cash, and serving alcohol responsibly under New Zealand rules. Sponsorship is available for eligible overseas applicants, subject to job check approval and immigration requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails made to the venue's recipes
- Serve beer, wine and spirits with sound product knowledge
- Greet guests warmly, talk with them confidently and respond to what they need
- Process sales accurately on the POS system and handle cash
- Keep stock levels organised and help with rotation, ordering and inventory
- Keep the bar and service areas clean to a high standard
- Serve alcohol responsibly in line with New Zealand regulations
- Complete opening, closing and end-of-shift tasks as needed
- Work well with the team through the busiest service periods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional bartending experience
- Practical experience preparing cocktails and serving drinks
- Sound knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
- Able to provide evidence of relevant work experience where required
- Strong communication and customer service
- Confident in a busy hospitality venue
- Reliable and professional in your approach
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Applicants must satisfy the New Zealand immigration requirements that apply
- Where an English test is required, applicants must meet the current Immigration New Zealand requirements or an accepted exemption
