Modern casual dining is the style at this Brisbane kitchen, run by a professional hospitality team in Queensland that cares about consistency and teamwork. It wants an experienced Sous Chef who has proved themselves in commercial kitchens and can be relied on every shift.
Expect to set the tone in daily service, plate modern dishes to a steady standard, keep flavour and portions where they should be and hold the pace when it gets busy. You would also pitch in on prep, production and planning and back up the senior chefs, on a 7-day roster with evening shifts. Visa sponsorship can form part of the employment pathway.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example during daily kitchen service, supporting senior chefs with running the kitchen
- Cook and plate modern dishes to a steady, high standard using a wide range of professional techniques
- Keep flavour, presentation and portion size consistent and watch the quality of food and prep
- Work with the team during service and help with prep, production and planning
- Keep pace and flow going when service is busy
- Stick to food and workplace safety and hygiene rules, leave the kitchen clean and orderly and help build a positive team that aims high
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holds a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or another recognised equivalent
- Minimum 1–3 years in a commercial kitchen
- Previous work as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or in a similar role
- Strong cooking knowledge and practical kitchen skill, with experience cooking quality modern food
- Efficient and consistent under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork, plus good organisation and time management
- Well presented with a dependable work ethic
- Knows food safety, hygiene and OH&S requirements well
- Can work flexible shifts across a 7-day roster, evenings included, and can supply professional referees with up-to-date contact details
