A wood-fire grill and a bistro menu that changes with the seasons are what set this Melbourne kitchen apart. The venue needs a Chef de Partie who can hold a section, cook with care and bring ideas to the weekly specials board.
You would prepare and plate dishes, check them on the way out, help with ordering and stock and pass on technique to newer cooks, all in a well-equipped and busy kitchen. Sponsorship is available for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook a range of high-quality bistro dishes, checking quality, consistency and presentation through prep and service
- Bring creative ideas for weekly specials and help plan new menus
- Work out food and labour needs, place orders and keep track of supplies
- Work with kitchen and floor staff for smooth service
- Show others cooking techniques and prep methods, and help train kitchen staff when asked
- Keep food hygiene and safety strict and in line with regulations
- Keep the kitchen tidy and efficient and support the team during busy service
- Help preserve, freeze and store food as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen or Chef experience
- Practical experience preparing and cooking food in a professional kitchen
- Good understanding of food preparation, presentation and quality control
- Knowledge of food safety and commercial kitchen hygiene standards
- Works efficiently in a busy hospitality setting
- Strong teamwork and communication
- Reliable and motivated, ready to take on responsibility
- A creative approach to food preparation and weekly specials
- Available for flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- A positive attitude to teamwork and continuous improvement
