Fancy swapping the UK winter for a New Zealand summer in the mountains? An award-winning country hotel in the Southern Alps, not far from Queenstown, is recruiting a Chef de Partie, and with weddings and functions throughout the calendar, the kitchen rarely has a quiet week.
You will need a minimum of 2 years in a similarly fast-paced kitchen, and experience cooking Kiwi / western cuisine is a must. The contract is permanent and full-time with an immediate start, offering a minimum of 30 hours a week on a 4-day rota that includes weekends and nights. You are asked to commit until mid-April 2027, when the summer season finishes.
The hotel favours citizens and permanent residents, or those with at least 6 months on their work visa, though sponsorship may be available to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Know the daily and standing menus inside out
- Keep across function bookings and specials
- Run the kitchen and the pass efficiently on the senior chef's days off
- Operate grills, deep-fat fryers and microwaves safely, regulating temperatures
- Clean down prep and service areas every day
- Keep the right stock in at the right quality and quantity
- Ensure every element of a dish is to standard, properly cooked and sent on time
- Follow recipes and instructions to the letter
Requirements & Eligibility
- 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Experience cooking Kiwi / western cuisine
- Hospitality, cookery or culinary qualification preferred
- Quick, safe worker with excellent verbal communication skills
- Free for rota hours including weekends and nights, with a commitment until mid-April 2027
