Chef

Visa sponsorship

Hospitality · Greymouth, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25 - $35/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

An established hospitality business in Greymouth is looking for a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie to work across several of its venues. You would take responsibility for your part of the kitchen across breakfast, lunch and dinner, keeping food quality and service consistent from prep to the pass.

Expect sauces and garnishes, dietary requests, stock checks, functions and special events, along with hands-on coaching for junior cooks and rostered shifts that include weekends, early mornings and late evenings. Applicants requiring employer-supported visa sponsorship may be considered. The business looks at what you have actually cooked rather than titles alone. If you have run a section in a busy UK hotel or restaurant, that experience counts here.

On your CV, describe the venues and services you have cooked for, any juniors you have trained and your qualifications. Assemble a multi-venue senior chef CV with Build AI CV and apply.

  • Communicate with chefs and kitchen staff and coach junior team members on the job
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures
  • Help with functions, special events and extra service demands, and suggest ideas for seasonal dishes and menu improvements
  • Keep quality steady when it is busy, move between venues when needed and work rostered shifts, including weekends, early mornings and late evenings
