Cooking à la carte to a high standard is the heart of this full-time Chef job in Port Hedland, Western Australia. The kitchen needs someone with at least 3 years behind the stove who keeps every plate consistent through the rush and can step into whichever section needs a hand.
Bringing on junior chefs and apprentices is part of the role too, along with keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well stocked. Rosters can include day, evening and overnight shifts. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook every dish to the standard the kitchen has set
- Keep à la carte plates consistent through busy service
- Get prep and kitchen jobs done in good time
- Watch portion sizes and how each plate looks
- Work within food safety, hygiene and health rules
- Move between sections and take the lead to keep things running when the kitchen needs it
- Coach junior chefs and apprentices as they learn
- Keep front of house and the kitchen talking clearly
- Keep the kitchen orderly, spotless and safe and lend a hand with stock prep
- Suggest ways to work faster and cook better
- Help keep the team positive and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience
- Has worked before as a Chef or in a similar culinary job
- A proven background in à la carte cooking
- Strong hands-on cooking and prep ability
- Knows professional food safety and hygiene standards
- Copes independently in a busy kitchen and performs reliably shift after shift
- Communicates well and works as part of a team
- Professional in attitude and serious about quality
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior kitchen staff is advantageous
- Willing to work day, evening and overnight shifts
- English language proficiency, and Australian work rights preferred
