Key Responsibilities
- Cook meals to approved recipes and menus that meet each patient's dietary and nutritional needs
- Plan and complete food preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner within set production and service times
- Keep quality, presentation, consistency and portions to a high standard
- Follow food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety procedures
- Check storage, rotate stock and keep the kitchen clean and hygienic
- Work with the catering team and adapt to changing needs without letting standards drop
- Help patients enjoy their stay with dependable, quality food
Requirements & Eligibility
- You have worked as a professional Cook in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality or catering
- Practical knowledge of commercial cooking and food preparation procedures
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling
- Relevant food handling or food safety qualifications
- Reliably follows recipes, menus, dietary instructions and workplace procedures
- Keeps up in a busy kitchen and meets strict service deadlines
- Strong teamwork, communication and people skills
- Available for rotating shifts that include weekends and public holidays
- Professional, quality-focused and detail-minded
- A sincere interest in supporting patient wellbeing through good food
- You must be able to satisfy the applicable pre-employment requirements covering employment, work-rights, references, criminal history and health
