Cocktails, sharing plates and a view over the Christchurch CBD. A rooftop bar that ranks among the city's top venues, now in its sixth year, is after an experienced Duty Manager.
The bar trades Tuesday to Sunday with full table service and a menu built around seasonal sharing plates, while Mondays are kept for venue presentation, cocktail competitions, functions and staff training. You would greet guests, take charge of bookings and functions, lead the floor, watch front of house costs and rosters against targets, run stock orders and stocktakes and help develop new drinks and dishes. The contract is permanent and full-time with a 30 hour minimum, rotating closes and evening and weekend work, and Friday and Saturday nights are non negotiable. Immediate starts are possible, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they arrive and keep them happy throughout their visit
- Handle every reservation and customer enquiry
- Look after general service, including taking orders, up-selling and payments
- Lead the team from the front and run front of house training
- Act as the point of contact for functions
- Track front of house costs, overheads and the roster against KPIs and targets
- Order stock and complete the monthly stocktake
- Carry out standard opening and closing procedures
- Keep the venue safe and healthy, meet every legal obligation and support a positive staff culture
- Help develop new menus, from drinks and recipes to costings and marketing
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years bar experience, including high volume cocktail work
- A warm, welcoming personality and a positive attitude

- A passion for the industry
- Valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate
- Able to commit to evening and weekend work (Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable)
