Swapping a British winter for a Sydney kitchen? A new 90-seat neighbourhood bar in Sydney, NSW is looking for a Head Chef to open its kitchen and lead it. The menu will be built around steak and seafood.
It is a relaxed venue by the beach with an open kitchen and a bar that should be busy and buzzing. The opening menu is still being worked out, with grilled steaks, seafood and sauces made in-house at its heart, so the new Head Chef gets a genuine creative say. Key Responsibilities
- Run the kitchen's day-to-day operations and lead the team
- Finalise the launch menu and carry on developing it
- Recruit and train a strong brigade, keep it inspired, and keep quality, consistency and efficiency high during service
- Organise ordering, food costs, prep systems and supplier relationships
Requirements & Eligibility
- A proven Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef
- 5+ years in fast-paced venues
- Passion for cooking and premium local ingredients
- Leadership that motivates and mentors, and that builds team culture
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Ready to start immediately and take on a ground-up build
