Your time would be split across heavy trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles, covering servicing, repairs, preventative maintenance, safety inspections and warranty jobs. You would use the workshop's diagnostic tools on mechanical, electrical and electronic faults, test vehicles after repairs, keep accurate job records and help keep the workshop tidy. Suitable applicants may be eligible for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Service heavy diesel vehicles and carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Use diagnostic tools to find complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults, identify the root cause and recommend the right repair
- Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Repair trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles, including warranty work as required
- Replace or repair mechanical and electrical parts and test vehicles or equipment afterwards to confirm repairs meet technical standards
- Keep accurate records of completed work and follow workshop safety procedures
- Support your workshop colleagues and help keep the workshop clean
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or an equivalent
- At least 5 years of hands-on heavy diesel mechanical work
- Practical servicing and repair experience on trucks and heavy vehicles, and a solid understanding of their mechanical systems, with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Having worked on several heavy vehicle brands is desirable
- Experience repairing trucks and trailers is highly regarded
- Works well alone and in a team, with close attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong awareness of safety
- Good communicator and problem-solver
- HC Licence is desirable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable
