Prefer a site map and a van to the same workshop bay every day? This full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic job in Perth is field-based, sending you out to client sites to deal with breakdowns on heavy equipment and get it running again.
Alongside repairs you would trace faults, carry out planned and preventative servicing, and help with shutdowns and machine moves, often on major OEM gear. Good planning matters, as does writing clear service reports and staying in touch with site contacts and your own team. Safety comes first throughout. Eligible international candidates may be considered for employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Travel to breakdowns on client sites and carry out field repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment quickly
- Find and fix mechanical and equipment faults, working to a high standard on major OEM machines
- Handle preventative and scheduled servicing, and support shutdowns and equipment relocations
- Organise your day around deadlines, keep accurate service reports and maintenance records, and communicate clearly with clients, site representatives and colleagues
- Stick to workplace and site safety procedures as part of a professional, safety-minded team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Heavy Diesel trade qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification
- Relevant experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy mobile equipment
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Experience with major OEM equipment is highly regarded
- A valid driver's licence that meets the requirements of the role
- A High Risk Work Licence for LF and/or WP is advantageous
- Comfortable working in a field service setting, with a strong grasp of safe work practices
- Able to complete the required pre-employment assessments and communicate well in writing and in person
- Qualifications, work history and professional identity must be verifiable
