Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments
- Provide individualised nursing care
- Support people with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and other conditions
- Carry out risk assessments
- Conduct mental state examinations
- Observe and monitor patients
- Give medications
- Observe responses to treatment
- Provide crisis intervention
- Plan recovery alongside patients
- Practise therapeutic engagement and team up with nursing colleagues, psychiatrists, psychologists and allied health staff
- Keep accurate clinical documentation
- Work on discharge planning
Requirements & Eligibility
- A qualified Registered Nurse who has worked in inpatient mental health or psychiatric nursing
- Currently registered with AHPRA, or able to obtain Australian nursing registration
- Strong skills in clinical assessment, in managing risk and in communication
- Experience in acute mental health, adult psychiatry or specialist inpatient services; committed to recovery-focused, person-centred and trauma-informed care
- Seeking employer sponsorship through the Subclass 482 visa
