If you have spent your working life fixing crash damage in a UK body shop, this Panel Beater job in Sydney is built around those skills. Workshops there need tradespeople who can read accident damage, pick the right repair approach and return vehicle bodies to a safe, accurate standard.
Expect to strip damaged panels and parts, repair or replace them, pull body structures back into line and weld where needed, then work with the mechanics and spray painters so each job leaves properly finished. Key Responsibilities
- Assess accident and body damage and work out the right repair and restoration method
- Remove damaged panels, components and body parts, then repair or replace panels as needed
- Straighten, align and restore the body structure of each vehicle
- Carry out welding and metalwork
- Work with specialist panel repair tools and workshop equipment
- Coordinate finished repairs with mechanics and spray painters, checking every job for accuracy, safety and finish
- Keep the workshop safe, clean and organised in line with workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant panel beating experience
- Strong practical knowledge of automotive body repair techniques
- Hands-on experience with professional panel beating and repair equipment
- Able to identify damage and choose the right repair method
- Careful and quality-focused, with attention to detail
- A good communicator who works well in a team
- Works efficiently to workshop timeframes
- Valid driver's licence
- A qualification and employment history that can be verified
