Midwives are at the heart of the care team in this private maternity service in Hobart, which is looking for a Registered Midwife who wants to be valued for their clinical skill. You would support women and families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal weeks, working with obstetric, nursing and neonatal colleagues.
Full-time, part-time and casual hours are all possible. The role is open to eligible applicants already in Australia. Applicants who need visa sponsorship will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, respectful, evidence-based care through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages
- Support women through labour and birth, respecting their choices and care plans
- Monitor the wellbeing of mothers and babies and escalate clinical concerns promptly
- Educate and reassure women and their families, and help with newborn care, breastfeeding and early parenting
- Keep accurate patient records and clinical notes
- Work with obstetric, nursing, neonatal and allied health teams
- Take part in clinical education and quality improvement and mentor student and graduate midwives when asked
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered Midwife status with current AHPRA registration
- A recognised Midwifery qualification
- Demonstrated experience in providing maternity care
- A firm commitment to woman-centred, evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Works well in a multidisciplinary team
- Keeps professional knowledge and clinical skills current
- Time in birth suite, antenatal, postnatal or special care nursery is highly regarded
- Open to permanent full-time, part-time or casual hours
- Able to satisfy Australian professional registration and employment requirements
