Swapping the UK winter for Canberra, and a function suite for a venue that hosts weddings, corporate events and afternoon high tea? This Restaurant Manager role puts one person in charge of the entire operation.
It is the sort of post that suits someone who has managed a busy events-led restaurant or a wedding venue at home. You would organise and develop the front-of-house team, look after service standards and how the venue is presented, and take the lead on guest feedback. The kitchen, the events team and the General Manager are your closest colleagues, and revenue, costs and WHS and RSA compliance are part of your remit.
The venue is one of the sites of an established hospitality and events group operating in Sydney and Canberra. Evenings and weekends form the working pattern. Sponsorship is available.

Key Responsibilities
- Organise the day-to-day running of afternoon high tea, weddings, corporate functions and private events
- Manage the front-of-house team, from rotas and training to longer-term development
- Liaise closely with the General Manager, the events team and the kitchen so each occasion runs smoothly
- Keep service and the venue's presentation to a high standard
- Take the lead on guest feedback
- Grow takings, keep a firm grip on costs and look after WHS and RSA compliance
Requirements & Eligibility
- A proven track record in premium hospitality as a Restaurant, Venue or Events Manager
- A warm, approachable personality, at ease with guests and colleagues, who leads confidently and hands-on and owns operations fully
- Excellent English, written and spoken
- Highly organised, with a keen eye for detail
- Able to work evenings and weekends, every weekend included, plus public holidays and peak event periods
