Brisbane City has no shortage of bars, but this well-established bar and restaurant stands out for its food, its service standards and happy customers. It wants an experienced, motivated Senior Chef / Chef to join the kitchen full time.
Working side by side with the Head Chef, you would help run the kitchen day to day, from prep and cooking to coordinating service, keeping the kitchen organised and holding food quality high through lunch, dinner and weekend trade. Applicants must hold current Australian work rights when they apply. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the right candidate who meets all other requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and getting ready for service
- Prepare, cook and plate high-quality dishes to the venue's standards
- Keep lunch, dinner and weekend services running smoothly, with consistent taste, portions and presentation
- Help with menu preparation, food planning and kitchen workflow
- Watch stock levels, storage, ordering needs and wastage
- Handle, prepare and store all food in line with food safety rules, and keep hygiene and safety standards high
- Guide junior kitchen staff when needed
- Work with front of house to give customers a great experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Chef or Senior Chef
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food prep
- Able to help the Head Chef with daily operational needs
- Copes with pressure in a fast-paced restaurant and bar
- Strong attention to detail, presentation and consistency, with good communication and teamwork
- A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Reliable, professional and positive
- Current Australian work rights at the time of application
