Community Services
Community services covers the people-centred work that supports families, older people and anyone who needs a hand: disability support workers, aged care workers, youth workers, case managers, family support officers and community programme coordinators. This page lists those openings across Australia and New Zealand.
Many people in the UK already do this work in care homes, supported living, local councils or charities, and that experience counts. On your CV, describe the kinds of clients you have supported, the care plans or case notes you kept, any safeguarding or manual handling training and relevant qualifications such as a Health and Social Care diploma. Employers want to see patience, reliability and good judgement, so give a short real example where you can.
Roles in this field often need background screening before you start, and some ask for a driving licence or a first aid certificate; the advert will spell this out. It will also say whether visa sponsorship is offered, meaning the employer supports your work visa. Choose the roles that suit your experience and the setting you enjoy most.
