Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering on large civil construction projects and set a strong example on site safety
- Support the Project Manager so projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on time
- Check that the finished works match approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project requirements
- Prepare, track and update project plans, construction programmes and schedules, sequencing activities to follow them
- Give site teams technical and engineering advice and review civil, structural and services drawings
- Pick up technical issues and see queries through until they are resolved
- Help procure subcontractors and suppliers and monitor their costs, performance and deliverables
- Keep quality requirements and control procedures on track
- Help control project costs and budgets, including monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts, and flag risks, construction problems and potential delays
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
Requirements & Eligibility
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years' engineering experience in civil infrastructure or construction
- Experience helping to deliver major civil projects
- A sound understanding of civil construction methods
- Confident reading civil, structural and services drawings
- Proven experience handling technical queries and solving engineering problems
- Good knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and sequencing
- Experience managing subcontractor and supplier budgets
- An understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems
- Awareness of commercial and project management matters, plus excellent communication and stakeholder skills
- A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, and able to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
- Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
