Fancy swapping the UK winter for telco sites in Queensland? An Australian-owned infrastructure contractor based in Brisbane is recruiting a Telecommunications Field Engineer to lead integration, commissioning and carrier acceptance for carriers and prime contractors right across Australia.
Think greenfield builds one week and brownfield co-locations the next. The firm wants someone who mixes RF and Tx experience with rigging tickets and a good grasp of structures. Its wider work takes in rigging, civil construction and structure upgrades or decommissioning, organised through two director-led teams, and you will travel to remote and metro sites.
The post is full-time, direct employment rather than labour hire, under ANZSCO 313212 (the Australian occupation code). The employer is approved as a Standard Business Sponsor in the Skills in Demand programme (Subclass 482). Put simply, suitably qualified overseas candidates holding eligible visas may be considered, though Australian citizens, permanent residents and other Australians come first.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead RF and Tx integration at greenfield builds and brownfield co-locations
- Carry each site through commissioning to carrier acceptance
- Compile acceptance packs to the carrier's standard
- Install and commission antennas, feeders and outdoor cabinets
- Fit RUs and microwave dishes and bring them into service
- Support the rigging crew on structural works such as upgrades, extensions and face frames where required
- Run each job safely under the company or client HSE system (SWMS, permits, rescue plans, exclusion zones) and travel to remote and metro sites nationwide
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven telco Field Engineer experience in RF and Tx integration, commissioning and carrier acceptance packs
- Rigging ticket (Advanced or Intermediate) and current EWP, Working at Heights and First Aid
- Structural steelwork experience on telco towers
- Comfortable travelling to remote sites and mobilising at short notice
- Open QLD driver's licence; MR/HR and other tickets an advantage
